    Hi All,

Thsi may be very easy, but I am still learning my way around Signlab 7.1.

I am having a problem putting a border around the edge of a sign. I am using (Snblnk22.cdl) from the signlab files. I have a .jpg picture in the sign, and need to place a double lined border all the way around the edge. Each time i try by using ‘Transfrom>Outlines’ I cannot do it without having the .jpg hidden. I have tried bring .jpg back to front, but then border is lost?
Any advice would be most appreciated – sorry to be so dense!

    Best wishes,
    Dawn

The jpeg may be bigger than your border. What i would do is clip the jpeg ie if its square make a square the size of the jpeg in front of it align it where you want highlight both and go to tools options i think and clip it.
This fuses the two together and will sit in front of your separate border.
this will get the pic in front of your border anyway. What are you trying to do with it?

Hi Goop, I will give it a try. Got some stickers to make with a photo on them, but need a white border so as they stand out – they are for someones 40th B/day!

Are you applying both an inline and outline? When using Transform menu >> Outline, remove the tick from the Inline checkbox.

Something to keep in mind. If the picture has a solid (say white) backgound, the background color of the picture can be set transparent. Note that this might not work well for JPEGs that have compression dirt along the edges.

    1. Double-click the image. The AccuScan controls will appear in SmartBar.
    2. Above the Palette button is the "Target" colour. Double-click the Target colour and choose (say) white.
    3. Click the "eye" button to make white transparent (or [Ctrl] + click the Target colour).

    Cheers,
