  • how do i install type 1 fonts in windows ?

hi all, desperately trying to finish some artwork (why does everything come at once ?), managed to track down some missing heletica fonts on here, unzipped them, but windows won’t load them, they’re type one,

i use coreldraw 12, is there any way to either make windows accept them, or, for corel to import and use a font ?

    help peeeeease !

Hugh, it always helps to mention your OS with this type of stuff.

Anyway, Windows XP has built-in support for PostScript Type 1 fonts.

Windows Type 1 fonts have two files: PFB (printer font binary has outlines that control how the font looks) and PFM (printer font metrics has information about font spacing). Be sure you have both font files.
This might be why they won’t install.

thanks Glen, that might just be the answer i was looking for, i found two zipped files when i searched for the font i needed on here, well… i hope it’s in there ! the second zip file had a load of extra files the computer didn’t recognise as any particular type, i guess thats the missing files in the first folder.

    will try again ! thanks.
