how do i import text from wmf files into signlab please?
Morning!!
Having problems importing file from autocad……….have tried exporting as dxf & wmf file…..but having problems with text.
When importing dxf file, the text seems to have extra diagonal bars running across each letter which i cannot remove
When inporting wmf file, all text with curves looks like a small child has drawn it, i can solve this by changing the points from circles to crosses in edit, but its taking a hell of a long time because theres about 3000 letters!!!!
Anyone got any tips/ideas??

Not sure on this one, my only sugestion is that the bars split the letters and would need to be welded together again.
Maybe you could post the file in the file swapping forum and then we could have a go to see if we can do anything with it.
Is it just an autocad file you have or do you have auto cad as well?

Have auto-cad 2003 edition as well, but the client has e-mailed me their file, and theres a load of work to be done if i was to re-draw it!!!
just looking for the quickest way of converting………..dont really know an awful lot about auto-cad, just teaching myself the basics at the moment. But have more & more clients who seem to be using it and wanting me to import their files to cut the costs of jobs……at this rate this ones gonna cost a fortune!!!!!……………the lines & circles on the job convert perfectly, but the text???? NIGHTMARE!!!!

The file opens up fine in Autocad??
If so, is there an option to convert the text to curves or may be outlines??
Something to make the text shapes as opposed to actual text (if you do this you wont be able to edit the text after so make sure if you save it save as version 2 or something so you still have the original file) maybe this will help with the problem.The only other thought is it possible to copy something in Autocad and paste it directly into signlab?? i know i can do this with flexisign, but not sure about signlab
