    Hi Guys,

Basically I have been using GSP Composer for over 2 years and creating a pinline is really easy. All I do is select the template, go to tools, click outline, put -3mm and -6mm and there you have a pinline inside my selected shape. I am now (trying) using Corel 12 and cannot find a way to do this? Anybody know?

    Thanks

not sure i’ve got this right,

i think what you’re trying to do is make an outline, within a shape, and then another inside that, allowing you to remove an outline of vinyl when cut ??

try this, you’ll get the gist, and can tell me if i’m barking up the wrong tree then.

draw a 200mm circle, select it, top menu bar.. click on effects > contour, a box will appear to your right, it has three boxes on it, you want the steps, select ‘inside’, enter the number of steps you want (probably 2 in this case), enter the offset size, say 10mm,

now click ‘apply’, and you’ll see two internal layers appear within the original circle, before you do anything else, top tool bar…click on arrange > break contour group apart. this will seperate the contour groups and allow you to change colour, reposition, etc.

if that’s not what you want to do, can you explain ?

to change the thickness of an outline, you select the item on the screen (to do it with text you’ll have to convert to curves first -select then right click), the item must not be part of a group i think, unless it’s welded or combined, when you select it a little tool box opens on the top tool bar, you can select from none, to about 10mm outline. however, this will not cut as a fat outline, just show as one.

    Hi hugh,

Your a star. (drink1). That was exactly what I am after for now as the majority of my work involves what I class as a pinline.

Thanks again. You guys on here are a huge help. Definitely going to upgrade my membership!
