  • how do i get rid of the contour cut line command?

Posted by Adrian Neill on July 10, 2007 at 10:26 am

Hi all …. sorry this is a very simple question, but can’t solve it.

I have a design saved with a contour cut line. I need to use the same logo
in another design but don’t want the cut line anymore.

Question is, how do i get rid of it ??

Hi Chris ….. i imported the job before from a .Ai file and added the
contour afterwards and saved the logo. Doesn’t seem to want to let me
    take it off again now.

I’d usually just re-import the file, it’s just this time it’s a crest and is
quite involved to re-colour. I have done that this time as i couldn’t take
of the cut line ….. would just be handy for future reference. 😀

if the cut line is part of the design eg contains a colour then undo its cut command, it should then only print.

If you highlight the object that’s got the contour on it, and you right click the mouse, it says "undo contour cut".

    Hi

(It will only say ‘undo contour cut’ if adding a contour cut was the last action you made.)

Make sure the contour cut line isn’t grouped with anything else. Then select the contour and go to the Arrange menu tab, Select Contour Cut and then select Release Contour Cut.

If you can’t select the contour cut then the imported AI file might include masks – select the part you want, right click and select un-mask, a black rectangular mask appears, deselect all, select the mask and delete it, repeat the process until all masks are deleted. then select the contour and follow the steps above.

    Cheers
