    Hi,

I am sure there is a simple way of doing this but can’t seem to find it, so would be greatful for any help. We need to fade a design into the background almost like a watermark. There are loads of different blend and fading techniques but none that seem to fade the whole image to the same degree. Can you help?

    Thanks
    Lee

Put a white rectangle over the image and apply a transparency to it using the lens tool. Adjust the transparency until it looks washed out enough.

Or you can use the interactive transparency tool

HI…..When i hand out qoutes on A4, i always put the persons design covering the hole page in B\W…Behind all my text and designs, …i have it so washed out ..the customer sometimes does not even see it…..so when I point it out to them they go….” WOW,….
All i use is…(corel draw, not corel paint)………

select your pic…..go to EFFECTS…..then the ADJUST button…
then the Brightness-contrast and intensity button…..play with intensity..
See if it looks good with the (little eye icon) preview button.
    then press ok.
CHUCK ALL YOUR STUFF ON TOP …………..johnno

you can go from black to invisable 😛

Not sure I agree with John, V10 was not a very stable Version of Draw on anything other than W2000 or XP and it wasn’t brilliant then – V12 is better. You can put a lense on your drawing to create the faded effect but this may increase substantially the file size and print time, it may be better to shrink your design to A4 – convert to bitmap – edit bitmap (double click) fade the image, ( in docker make background object – second icon bottom left, and then move the slider at the top of docker) on closing this will be back in Draw, put this on another layer and lock it, (won’t select by accident then) you can make this layer a master then it will appear on every page.

    Hi Lee

    Select object

    Select the transparancy tool

The toolbar changes to transparancy tools

At the left hand end of the toolbar there is a box that should say “none”

Change this to “uniform” and a slide appears with the defult setting 50%

Slide the slider until the desired effect ic achieved

why not just keep it as eps and not even go into corel paint.
    just stay in corel draw.
then you can export it to your cutter programe or just print straight from there to printer. 3 commands are better than 10.
every one has xp ..don’t they..
i go straight from corel to signwizard gold………..keeping it eps all the way.
    every one is differant
