ok I know this will be simple to sort and feel silly asking but its doin my head in!!! putting text on inside of a circle but its too tall and narrow, so before putting it in I shorten it and broaden the text, then put in circle but it goes all shapes! what am I doing wrong?

    I hate Corel.
I struggle with the text thing too.
Yesterday I realized that if I make the text about the size of what I need
before arching it, it worked somewhat better.
But yesterday I also figured out that damn envelope tool.
It seems to be more helpful with distortions.
    I have Corel 9.
    Love….Jill

Craig, when you say you want to put the text on the inside of the circle, do you mean you want the text to follow the curve of the circle? Or do you want the text to fill the circle?

I’ve moved this thread to Graphic Help & Discussion, could you post up a jpeg of what you’re trying to do Craig, as I’m still having problems understanding (I’m attempting to give up smoking again, and not doing a very good job of it 😳 )

There should be a fairly simple solution to it, just need to see whether I’m understanding you correcting.

like so!! When I adjust the height and add lenght to broaden it , add to curve its not right! 🙄

Really easy one. Rather than trying to fit the text inside the circle, make a new circle that is much smaller, to the inside edge of the text. Then Fit To Path within the text options, and you’ll find it easier to manipulate.

One minor problem with CorelDRAW is it will do strange things to files when you’ve done a Fit to Path within them. I would convert the result to curves once you have what you want.

To make the effect you’ve shown is relatively simple, the original text is fitted to the curve (or circle in this case) then duplicated. The duplicate is offset to the original, then the original is given a small outline. The outline is seperated , then trimmed from the duplicate. Hope that makes sense 😕

    Cheers, Dewi
