Hi Kate, when you bought the banner did it not say the weight per square metre . i.e 510gr/m2 which means 1 square metre is 510 grams. Now work out how many square metres you have to send and add a little on for box, hem tape eyelets etc.

    Steve
In your case Kate you will be sending 67.5 square metres more if hemmed.

    Hi Steve,

Thanks for your response, I managed to get the costs sorted – as I don’t buy the banner directly I didnt know about the weight etc (I get the banner media from another company and I simply provide the design they then produce the banner complete ready for collection)

Anyway I phoned Metamark and got the weight per m2 and calculated my costs very long process.

I’m not sure if the customer will buy from me as the postage alone is just over £200 with VAT – going to Germany with 2 day delivery deadline but I will wait and see.

    Thanks again

    xxx

Kate, sorry if I misunderstood, is this a quote for a job, or a definate order?
If you already have the order, then maybe you should have found out the shipping costs first?
If a quote, then you will be competing with german and more to the point Polish companies, so on either count, you may well be onto a looser,
Sorry to sound negative, but just a word of caution, there are scams going around ordering banners.
It maybe not the case with you, but I would rather point it out than see you loosing out

    Hi Kate

I have shipped quite a few banners abroad and I know its a bit late but I would have thought that was pretty steep for a 2 day delivery.

Worth checking other ways to ship. If it is by one of the BIG couriers that would be about right but there are cheaper alternatives.

    Cheers Nick
