  • how can i correct the worksize in Flexisign 7.6 please?

I’m having problems with the work size in Flexisign 7.6, I think it must be an age thing so I’m looking to one of you bright young things to help me out.
I open the file with a job at 10cm Sq, click cut/plot to open sign manager, the job is now 152cm sq and needs 3 panels, I scale it down so I can cut it. The size in sign manager goes up with every job, a sort of cumulative addition and ends up 1000s of cm and 100s of panels for a small job. To zero it, I’ve reloaded Flexisign and already it’s 152cm. Just as a footnote to my first post as vinyl cutting is not my main business I only purchased a cheap Pcut 630 plotter, I found it superb value for money and it paid for itself in two days, it seems by all the post re this plotter that I must have been lucky?

When you send the job to plot, In production Manager, does the size of your image (10cm sq.) still read that size, and is the percentage box still reading 100% ?

No the size in production manager seems to get added on to the total in the box but it still reads 100%

If I send a job to plot that is reading 152cm square in the size box, but I only wanted it to be cut at 10cm square, I would alter the 2 boxes in "Size" to read 10cm x 10cm and the percentage box underneath – which was reading 100%, now reads 6.579%. I know thats not the correct way of doing things, and I don’t know the answer as to why FlexiSign is doing that (as you can see, I’m not a bright young thing) but that may at least help you to plot your work at the correct size.

I have been adjusting the size in the cut/plot box as you suggested, however after a few jobs the size in that box is huge, still reads 100% and takes about 10 mins to reduce and find my job.

    Thanks anyway Allan,
I think at this time of the day all the bright young things are still trying to become millionaires, something I gave up on years ago. I might get the remedy this evening.
    Thanks for your suggestions

Just one final thought. When you send a job to Production Manager, is the software recognising the vinyl width correctly? If not click on user defined
and put in your own size. I’m not familiar with your plotter so I don’t know if the material box is being completed correctly by the software. If the size in the width box reads for example 10000mm, the job you are trying to cut at 100mm will be almost invisible. I hope that makes sense.
    Best of luck anyway.

maybe it has something to do with your other business. If you have only bought a cheap pcut as you don’t normally do vinyl work you must have bought flexi to do some other sort of work as its very expensive.

What is it you are using flexi for at the moment as there may be some clues which could help there.

The flexi came on a computer I bought from a signmaker who retired to Florida, this is the first time I’ve had a chance to use it. Total in the size box this morning is 6975.516cm and 224 panels!

If you bought it from someone else then if you contact Scanvec they will re-register it in your name.

Have you got some sort of background element lumped in with your design?

Or try opening a new document at the size you want and pasting or importing your design into that.
