    Yes it is.

Hot reduces, or eliminates, silvering and makes the colours more vibrant.

just a note as john says and really does make a difference to the finish. but some are listed as hot but only go to 40deg. as mine does. which is fine for normal use.

no need to laminate banners they are uv inks or solvent.
judging by your questions you need to understand there are 3 basic different inks.

    uv cured outdoor & indoor
    solvent out or indoors
water based mainly indoor limited outdoor

the nova printer is water based.

Thanks for the reply trying to learn loads of new thing in a shot space of time. I have found some old specs and it States –

    DYE AND PIGMENT INK FLEXIBILITY
The NovaJet 750 has eight ink lines and eight ink reservoirs, so switching between indoor and outdoor ink sets is as easy as swapping out the four ink cartridges. Newly re-designed quick disconnect cartridge valves and septum connectors make changing cartridges mess free.

So the novajet is no good for banners?

    Thanks

both dye and pigment they describe are water based and its really the materials that let the system down. there are one or two expensive exceptions.
