  • Horse Lorry Wrap – Color Change

    Hi All,

Having been out the wrapping game I’d be interested in views on materials.
Its a personal project so money is even tighter 😉 You know how it is.

Looking to wrap a horse lorry – 12T
Majority is pretty flat but still a cast wrapping vinyl required. Just doing a color change to navy blue, possibly metallic.
Looking for something hard wearing as it will get brushed by bushes going down the lane to the yard.

Be good to hear your suggestions on whats out there these days.

    Cheers

We’ve used oracal 970 on our van. Easy to apply and not overly expensive

Aye that’s 3 for 970RA. Save about £10 a meter on average compared to 3m and Avery. I like it

Hexis skintac hx20000 is another good option.

If it is just a nice metalic cast film at a low price, then why not just use a quality brand of cast metalic.
its mainly flat as you say, but even rivets, curves etc it will still conform on the likes of a horse box. i dont know off hand the price but half the price of wrapping film.
drawbacks are its a 49 inch wide cast, thin and has an aggressive adhesive. so tape it up with application tape. as long as you can apply the vinyl decent, it’s worth considering.

    Thanks all.
Next step is finding somewhere big enough to get the lorry inside so i can wrap it.

Sorry Rob, your message only just appeared.
Yes that is the other approach i’m taking. Got plenty of options with those materials. I just wanted to check what was out there in wrap specific materials. As mentioned, not wrapped in a while as been trapped behind a desk. 🙁
If the job comes off i’ll get some pictures up.

    Have a good weekend all
