Hi Kevin
These types of films are normally polyester and not suitable for printing.
It has been a long time since I have used it, but back in the day, we had particularly large projects using this type of product. Although not often required, if I had to print something on the film, I would just print directly onto clear laminate and laminate that onto the polyester film.
Going by what you are saying about Roland having some, there might well be digital versions of the stuff now available, but my method did work.
if you have “optically clear” laminate, that would be the best option for it, but if it is just the general effect, then clear will still work.
From memory, the following companies normally supply holographic and speciality-type stuff.
If there are printable versions of the polyester stuff, they should be a good starting point, to source it.
