no your right mate.. my name is hidden when online.

i dont mean if you see a hidden user then you should assume its me..

there are many fully registered & even some UKSG members that have their access hidden. the only way i know they are hidden is because instead of me “not” seeing them. their name appears in italics amongst the normal ones.
anyone can do this i think.. click profile, and change online status.

Ah yes I can see it now! But why would you or anyone else want to hide whether or not your logged on? I think it is just one of the great things about the site when you knows ‘who’s in’.
Its like when you put your head in at the local pub and want to have a quick pint with your mates, you don’t expect John and Dave to be drinking in the toilet (sounds dodgy 😮 ) away from everyone else.
I for one like to see who is about when I log on just out of interest.
Is this a new thing for you then?

i do the same myself. to be honest.
its nothing new no. i have had this status for about 6-7 weeks now. maybe more.

i actualy did it when i got boroadband in at home. my computer is never offline now 24/7 connection. if watching TV & i get an email i get a notice tune played. so i normaly go into the next room to have a look.
i had a few emails in fun, asking.. are you never off that comp rob 😆 😆
i also got some PMs from folk asking “when are you gonna reply rob” in actual fact i am not there.. but they think i am..
so this is why i took my status off. i always look like im on, even if i am not.

I suppose I can seee the logic in what you said though, but why not just log on when you want to post up?

Interesting you should bring that up Rob, I was wondering if you were perhaps two people (one that just sat and modorated/posted 24/7 and one who goes out to work to get the endless experience etc)

But now I’m in the picture, I still don’t know how you manage to oversee all that goes on here aswell as holding down a job and a personal life too !
People tell me that I try and cram too much into a day but yours must be a bit non stop I guess…..

Right I am logging out of here for Xmas. Iam at wedding tommorrow in Chelmsford and very busy Xmas Eve. So happy Christmas to all and I hope that nobody is here on Xmas Day (Rob) or you need to see a doctor.
