Looks to be a fine web site, I build Traction Engines, then comes the best part getting the brush’s out and hand painting them. Using the old skills, cutting back each time. Anyway nice to be with you all.

Any of the old school on board, I build half size Traction Engines and paint life size, How do we put photos on to show my work? If I emailed Robert can he put one on for me ? Maybe if I email someone with a photo its all new to me, but I am willing. Kind regards Graham

    Hi Graham, welcome mate.

I admire anyone with talent. You clearly have one. I don’t have the patience to build models or anything. I am sort of a ‘now’ person. I’m happy to pay extra to have something ready made.

I bought a plastic model for my son about 5 years ago so we could ‘bond’. I’ve opened the box and that is about it. Now we ‘bond’ at the toy store 😳

    welcome again.

I find great joy once the fire is light and the Engines are Steaming, I enjoy all the old skills that go with Traction Engines, Signing, Gold work, and just good old hand painting. I must say I do find this web site very very good, I would wish to show my work but I don’t have the knack of getting them on for you all to see any help?

Do forget I still in the land of Steam and coal,

    Have fun

Graham you cant attach an image in all forums ….. only some forums allow attachments of pictures …… if you are trying to attach a pic of “your work” you need to go into the “UKSB Menbers Portfolio” Forum. Create a “New Topic” Give it a subject title and write a bit of text then look below your text box and you will see “Browse” click that and it will bring up your documents list on your pc for you to find your image, double click the image you need then click “Attach” then “submit” your post ……. this should work …… hopefully …… :lol1: well thats if I havent confused you completely with my waffle??

It is a most welcoming site, getting to see some great stuff, Photos on the side of trucks, My work is good old hand painting, and lining, gold leaf. Traction Eng’s It is great to also make them at 6 inc scale, and see them steam. With Traction Engine work it’s using the skills of the old. I am looking forward to meeting a old timer on here, that did my kind of work. Mind you he would need to be getting on a bit to hold all the skills needed. I am always willing to learn ; take the guy with the gas tank, forgot his name, what a gift, love to meet him and pick up a number of tips. I do enjoy having a go with the air brush, but I am a long ways from painting trucks. I have painted the Royal Gates at Sandringham, and gold topped them even done work inside Sandringham church, and St Paul’s, but air brushing is a world apart, each fair ground I visit its all air brush work today. Its the sign of the times I am some of the last keeping the history Britain’s history alive. I have just jumped down from the soap box, Ha Ha Ha see you soon Graham

Graham, the guy doing “gas ” tanks is beej Very state of the art, so nothing traditional there,
    art nontheless though
The finish on old engines is beautifull but fades into the background compared to the engineering at their heart,

Yes I am most lucky to work on Traction Engs, I am no master painter just a man that loves steam, and I do my very best, and the only way for me is the old ways of hand brushing paint. I build to 6 inc scale, and I have a 4 1/2 inc in the workshop at this time. and I also go on site to paint full size. Peter what do you do yourself, if you dont mind me asking.
    Kind Regards Graham
