Hi from oxfordshire
Hi to all especially Brian
Unfortunately I have aproched the Forum for help and have not introduced myself (did not know) to all and fopar on my part so hopefully I can make amends.
I have taken over a failing sign business which is an arm to a retail design and shop fitting business, we bought into a signage due to the large ammounts of work that was being outsourced on our behalf, we made the descsion to by in to a failing buisiness that had been a supplier previous to us, in hind site may have not been the best route to success as you buy more bad than good, over the last eight months I have relocated the business to our new premises, bought and sold kit needed to push the business forward. Had to find new staff after the move and now am slowly rebuilding upwards, it has been a very hard process and have managed to keep supplying clients without any upsets, we are slowly bringing items back in house with new staff on a steap learning curve encompassing how to use plotters / laminators / printers etc. Our mix of work is a balance between interior / exterior signage but would say we thrive in retail enviroments supplying everything from a Tent card to large flexi boxes, we are are big on manufacturing bespoke light boxes and have a great flatbed router pulling off some great work.
My background is magazine printing so to do all of the above has been my biggest challenged to date, I came onto uksignboards as there is alot of knowledge from experts who I and my business are all ears to learn from. We have a great offering so hope we can add a bit of colour out there.
Would love to hear from all out there in the big signage world, especially those that have a similar story to ours.
Regards
Liam
