Hi from Drumnadrochit
Hi all,
Just saying hello, we’re not principally sign-makers but do the odd job here and there and would like to learn how to do this better and also use some of these techniques on our giftware products.
We have a βNew Star OM40β Cutter which is mainly used for doing T-Shirt transfers but cuts sign vinyl as well and a Roland PNC2300 engraver / router (which is for sale)
Iβve just designed and built our own CNC router, 1.2m x 0.5m with 5-axis capability, having previously converted a small mill to a 5-axis router and wrote a software plugin to make the cutting paths. The router was built primarily for carving wood but can be used for foam, mdf, etc.
I hope I can get some advice here on;
Router cutting bits
Materials
Vacuum hold down
Cutting vinyl on a flatbed router
Finishing / WeatherproofingRegards,
Rab Gordon
