Hi from Cornwall
My name is Andy Picton. I found this board last week when looking for info on doming. I have a day job running a workwear garment manufacturing business with some cut vinyl transfers, preprinted transfers and subbed out screen printing, but also have a growing home based business doing more promotional type products, hence the doming.
Generally fascinated by the industry represented by board members but my activity at the moment is based on by equipment which consists of Epson 1290 printer with bulk sublimation inks (from Novachrome UK), Konica Colour Laser Copier which I use with Magic Touch media, Epson 6600 for producing full colour images for Xpres inkjet Dark and then contour cutting, Roland Camm-1 CX24 for the garment films/media and contour cutting for acrylic keyrings and doming products. I also use an Adkins swing away press and have a mug press and clamps. I have access to a Cap press when necessary. This all started as a hobby but I reckon I’ve got to get it paying back my investment.
I use Coreldraw 12 to handle my printing for all systems/methods which I have learned from scratch (I don’t posess a creative bone in my body) and have been able to meet all my customers’ requests todate.
Tucked away I also have a Craft Robo which introduced me to contour cutting and prompted me to buy the Roland.
My consumables and products I get from Novachrome, Xpres, The Transfer Press and the Magic Touch and have just started to use Creative Printers for doming products. I get garments from New Wave.
I’m sure that I will be picking the brains of boards members in the future (there is some evidence that the aforementioned brains do exist) but if any of you think a self taught hobbyist like me can be of assistance I would be pleased to offer an opinion.
