Hi All
Posted by Andrew Butler on May 26, 2005 at 5:15 pmHi everyone,
My name is Andy, and I have been involved in the sign industry for 24 years now. Having served my apprenticeship as a signwriter Iam now running a small banner manufacturing business, we also supply signs, vehicle graphics and garment printing.
Having read many posts on these boards, I must congratulate all those contributing, it makes for an interesting read with some great advice particularly for those new to the sign game.
I have always been a believer that we as signmakers should work together, and I hope to be able to assist with some of the knowledge I have gained over the years, (still learning every day though) and hope to pick up new ideas along the way.

Thanks to you all for your comments, hope I will be of some use on these boards, probably need some help myself from time to time, even people with many years experience can still learn, and I for one have never been afraid to try new ideas.
Once again thanks for your comments.
Robert I will e-mail my pic to you if that’s ok, thanks.
Nik I’m in Lancashire, to be more precise Horwich which is just outside Bolton, a few miles down the road from my friends at Chorley Signs, Rob keep an eye on your Dad and watch those phone lines>

Hi and Welcome Andy 😀
You’re not a million miles away from me, I’ve been up Horwich way a couple of times recently. Look forward to hearing more about you and the work you do 😀

quote zanady:watch those phone lines>
for all those that don’t understand that little inside joke: I installed a phone extension one weekend but inadvertantly swapped the phone and fax wires over so on monday we were kinda confused as to what was happening (ie fax tones on the voice phone and voice calls on the fax). It wasnt until Andy faxed what is usually our phone number with the words ‘I think you have the phone and fax the wrong way round’ that we realsied what had happned 😳

Welcome Andy
Interesting you ended up in the banner side of signmaking after so many years in the trade. What made you take this road? Just curious
Great to have you on board 😀

Hi andy,
Nice to see more of us “old hands” ex-signwriters on board.
And I echo your sentiments about us all working together. -
John – Just that the opportunity came along to buy a banner company that needed a revamp and could not resist the challenge, and some personal reasons. Thanks for showing an interest.
Dewi – Feel free to pop in for a brew next time you are over.
