Hey All !
Posted by steve geary on July 6, 2005 at 7:40 pmHi Everyone,
Just found this forum the other day, and i just signed up for a gold membership. Ive’ been browsing for a few days and it seems like a great bunch of people on here.
I’ve done hand lettering and some vinyl most of my life and I’ve been in business for three years now and it’s going pretty well. Still just a one man band with one part time helper. I mainly do trucks, Banners, and most types of signs, along with automotive and specialty refinishing. I’m located in the North East part of the U.S.
Seems like a wealth of knowledge on this site… Looking forward to some great advice and relationships…. Hopefully I can add something here and there.
Still trying to figure out some of the terms you guys use…. LOLCheers! (seems to be the common greeting for you folks abroad)

Well basically, northerners are a lot less intelligent than their superior, Southern counterparts. I think it’s because of all the coal that they burn, kills the brain cells.
They also race whippets every Sunday, drink warm beer and walk 50 miles to work every day over broken glass.
Big G (definitely cowering)
-
yeh steve, its definately all in fun mate. :lol1:

I can take all your mocking Big G – Your just jealous because our sheep are better looking 😳
-
I’m enjoying this !
It’s Amazing what I’m learning about Culture today 😀I’m from Pennsylvania in the states, and we have our own discussions about Our Southerners and their sheep, so i better leave that one alone..
-
so steve,
From Pennsylvania
you will know all about coal burning, and steel, just like us northerners
Peter -
Talking of sheep reminds me of an old joke:-
An ageing Welshman takes his grandson up the hill,as they did every Sunday afternoon. This particular day the welshman point out all the houses on one side of the valley and says to his grandson
“All them houses over there, i built them. Do they call me Jones The Builder?, NO”He then points out all the houses on the other side of the valley and says
“All them houses over there, i put the roofs on them. Do they call me Jones The Roofer?, NO”He then sighs and whispers to his grandson “One Bl00dy sheep!”
True story apparently

I’m getting worried bout this southern and france bit! Im only 23 miles away from em, and what does that make me!
So talking of sheep, which us from the south are not famed for. My family is from Wales, and they def are! lol.
quote :My family Descent is from Ireland (O’GearySo anyone gonna mention the Irish?
-
pointless having a go at the Irish……They wouldn,t understand it

quote Peter Normington:so steve,
From Pennsylvania
you will know all about coal burning, and steel, just like us northerners
PeterOh Yeah, LOTS of Coal around here…
We had a coal furnace for the first twenty years of my life.. taking care of it was my chore for as long as i can remember….The steel mills are pretty much gone now, but still are part of the culture.
I worked as a mechanic at an aluminum extrusion plant that was built around the WW II era. The machinery was amazing to say the least. -
Hi Steve,
Welcome to the boards, as you will see, division and local pride means a great deal for a lot of the members. I won’t go into that, but, hey keep this quiet; shhhh …
“Aparently, the Southern branch have found two new uses for sheep, yeah, I’m not kidding, but keep this to yourself, they’ve discovered they can eat the meat and use the wool for clothing!”
:lol1: 😉 🙄 :lol1: 😉 🙄 :lol1:

What was this thread about again?
Oh yeah, welcome Steve. What have you let yourself in for? These people are all mental!
-
Howdy from a Scot in Australia mate.
In answer to your Irish question I would in my humble opinion welcome any Irishman to the side of the Scots as we are all Celts.
As Robert Lambie said – Braveheart, it’s all true. 😀
-
Hi Steve,
