I hope this is in the correct section.

Sorry, I’ve been bad 😥 and stumbled accross a letterheads forum in the States for the more ‘traditional’ techniques. But one handy hint I discoverd about Signlab is this:

"When you have too many (or too few) nodes.

With your node edit tool select some or all of the available nodes and then go shift-u. This will de-select every second node. (You may have to refresh to see the change). This can be done a few times and still maintain the object shape.

Again select all or some nodes, shift-i to add a node between all existing nodes, shift-o to convert to a circle, shift-c to change from one node type to the next, shift-v to aligne selected nodes to a vertical line, shift-h to align to a horizontal."

    Pretty cool huh!

as for letterheads… nothing wrong in visiting other sites mate, ive been a "paying" member of letterheads for years now. i pop on there when i get a chance to take time out from the boards 😕 :lol1:
the "tickle in the trossachs" meet in callander scotland, next week is actually a letterheads meet. i will be there for a few days along with many other signwriters from around the world, some regulars here are attending too… should be great… why dont you come along?

Also in node edit mode – select node – press L , this sets origin to that node – press h or v on sected node to make vertical or horizontal to that node. If nodes don’t snap alter grid distance in options. Click icon bottom left of screen where rulers join to return to original page origin. These hot keys were in the oringinal Sign Studio programme, Singlab’s predecessor.

The best part of a dozen dedicated hot keys just for node editing – who would’ve thought!

Suddenly makes it seem more like a proper CAD program than a ‘simple’ sign package.

another way is too hit delete after selecting this gets rid of the highlighted node 😀

    c’mon now Nik!! 😛

my hint was not to simply DELETE the selected nodes, but to ‘automatically’ select every second node that you had grabbed. ie. all the mid points. Handy for reducing the amount of nodes in a design / smoothing wonky sections when you then ‘hit delete’.

    Really!! :lol1:

Cheers Brian. No, I fly out on Monday for a couple of weeks.

I’m in tomorrow as well, finishing off a few bit’s ‘n’ pieces that nobody else can do/be trusted with. Man, I work my ass off today. 1 full transit* and 2 partial liveries as well as the usual guff that comes my way. So much for ‘winding down’!

    * Yup, the one with the stupid ‘flames’ in the logo that the customer insisted on.
