have to admit, helvetica is one of my most used fonts… i think it stems from having a few versions of it on our old Gerber 4B which only consisted of about 15 fonts in total. 😀

wasnt bad…liked the founder of lynotypes quote…"perfect spacing around the letter" which it has, it is a font we all take for granted as its used on so many things 😀

Well I thought it was interesting – lots of food for thought

Maybe it’s time for someone to come up with a new "best seller" font for the 21st century. 😀

Dear green place is ok Nikola but I was on the phone all the way through.

The programme was ok I thought, I’ve never used the font though, it wasn’t on my computer, can you beleive it?

If you’ve got a PC, yes. It’s because MicroSoft didn’t want to pay the licensing fees for Helvetica, so they invented Arial, which is identical in all the important ways.

Phill, you surprise me. I thought the programme was a lot of self satisfied designers pontificating.

best part of the program was the designer who was so fed up of using helvetica, he decided to use the most random font he could so he went to the end of his font list and there was ‘Zapf Dingbats’. He said you couldnt read it, but it wasnt worth reading in the first place.

i found the initial part of the program very interesting, how it came to be, and what makes it so good as a font. but, after that it was seriously sleep inducing ! glad i watched what i did though !

I had a company from China want to know the font I used for a sign being sent to China, so they could match it for some engrish signs they had to add to the sign list.

Told them it was Helvetica Bold. They said they had never heard of it 😮

wasn’t fascinating, but was interesting to hear and see the thought processes of the font designers. Maybe suffered from being cut for telly.
