    Hi all
We have today moved premises and although we have moved the Versacamm before we have now come across a problem.

We unplugged the ink cartridges and fixed the head clamp in place and had the printer turned off for no more than 2 hours. The printer was then taken off the stand and passed through an upstairs window onto a scissor lift and then down to ground level, transported on the floor of the van and then lifted back onto the stand and wheeled into place.

When we plugged in at the new premises and set a job going the colours were all wrong. I stopped the job and did a clean and then tried again. Now we have no or little colour coming out. We have probably got an air block somewhere but I’m no expert.

The question is do I need an engineer or can this be solved by myself.

Any help is appreciated as we have a mountain of print to get through.

    What can I do??

    Thanks

    Gary

Didn’t you plug in empty cartridges?

You might need to attach your ink lines to a syringe and draw the ink through.

Never done it before but I’ve read of people doing it.

    Hi Jason
    Thanks for your reply.

I just left the ports open. I don’t suppose you know how to do this with the syringe do you?? Where do you pull it through from etc

Or am I safer getting an engineer out. The trouble is I don’t really have time for waiting as I have a mountain of print to get through before Xmas.

    Thanks

    Gary

I’ve never done it before. Chris Wool on here is pretty knowledgeable. Try get a hold of him. I don’t see it being hard you just need someone to walk you through it.

Or the guys on http://printingdigital.net forum are pretty handy. Hopefully I am allowed to post that link.

I don’t really understand where the contaminated ink has come from and was wondering are you sure you have replaced each cartridge in the correct port? If you’ve transposed the cartidges this would explain the wrong colours coming through.

Assuming the correct cartridges are in place I would do a few powerful head cleans to flush the ink through.

If this doesn’t cure it try pulling the ink through with a syringe

To pull the ink through attach a syringe to the pipes leading from the capping station to the pump. There are two pipes and you need to pull the ink through each on at a time. Do it slowly though.

    Thanks guys
As it is now I am getting no cyan, no yellow and no magenta and the black is not right.

Will go down and have a look and see if I can get it sorted. This might also seem like a dumb question but how do powerful head cleans? I have never had an issue in 2 years of having the machine and never had a reason to do them.

    Thanks again for your help.

    Thanks mate
Will go and try it now. I have just had the cover off and the pipes are visibly empty.

Will let you know how I go

    Cheers

if your pipes are empty, remove pipes from pump and suck the ink through with syringe! If i was you i would ring your supplier and get a detailed intsructions on how to do the procedure via the phone!

    regards
