Anybody help me with this one please ??

This is a scan from a customers letterhead, it doesn’t scan well enough to vector, & I am guessing it’s a font of some description.
tried an outline & shade without much success 😕

    Thanks Mike

I had a feeling it was a font rather than created by shadows & outlines …. thanks for looking 😉

Thanks to you all for trying …. what a thankless task 😕

I have got one letter (Z) done now, just by building it up myself, only took 45 minutes so I should get the other two done in a couple of hours 😥 😥

I did have a chat to Steve B who said that it’s really the customers problem (i agree) but he’s sorta over a barrel because after speaking to his printer, they scanned another letterhead from years back. Who’s gonna give me odds that the customer asks for the vector file when I have done it !!!! Who’s gonna keep it 👿 👿

    thanks again all

I think I might have it sparky.
MIKE – check the fonts in the VMP manual you borrowed 27 years ago and see if it’s there so I can help sparky out mate!
I’m 99% sure it’s on the font disc but I dont have it installed on any of my comps.
    Cheers

Hi Joe!…yes I do still have your book [oops!]

…but I’ve looked through the font listings three times now – and I can’t see it…there are some like it, that is they are made up of lines etc. but nothing that looks the same…sorry!

    sorry Mike,
I know I’ve seen that font somewhere!
It might have been in a letraset book as someone said earlier though.
    Cheers

thanks for trying joe, seems as if it was an old lettraset font (??) Quite a few have suggested it might be & even the printer who did the original letterheads scanned it from an older one (which he thinks was done from ……… yeah! you guessed 😕 )

    Thanks for trying all.

Wil have to do some work on it tomorrow 🙂

    Cheers Kevin.

I have looked on letraset website but nothing I can see similar.

Just gotta bite the bullet & draw this one I think 🙁 🙁

    Thanks to all that tried

    Sparky,

My attitude to your earlier question is that if the customer pays you to digitise the lettering then the resulting artwork is his and you are obliged to let him have a copy.

On the other hand, if you don’t charge, then it’s yours.

Quite agree 😉 that is exactly how I work. I will willingly do logo’s for customers but will not release it free for another signmaker to use (sound fair ?)
