  • Help sourcing Matt Transparent Vinyl please?

    Morning chaps,

I have an idea to apply transparent matt vinyl to a gloss sign tray to create a background pattern/decoration. The reason I want to use clear is to guarantee a colour match with the tray – and also the roll can be used on other jobs.

Does anyone know who supplies this?

I do have some matt laminate in stock but I’m assuming that this wouldn’t be suitable for application directly to the substrate (I didn’t want to go to the trouble of laminating some clear then cutting).

I think I’ll end up trying to find a vinyl colour match…

I’d apply a polymeric or cast laminate directly to the substrate. Don’t see the problem really. Just ask your supplier if its suitable.

I once saw a guy wrap a car in etch to get the same look on a vehicle. Don’t think it would last but it looks cool to have the oem paint colour come through the etc. Made it look matt.

Hexis sell several quality matt clear vinyls. We use both calandered and cast varieties for Edge printing labels.
