  • Help required with gallery wrapped prints

Posted by Denise Goodfellow on September 5, 2012 at 1:55 pm

    Hi Everyone.

I have a customer who requires quite a few canvases. Printing and stretching is not a problem.

    The problem is her artwork.

She wants them gallery wrapped, so the edges of the canvas are printed, but the artwork she has needs to be fully displayed on the face, the sides are just white space.

She would like some how for the white space to be printed… but with what??

Has anyone any ideas on what to do with that white space? The canvases are to display the companies new ceramic range, so needs to be alittle classy?

    Help

    xx

I’ve seen them done where the wrap around is a reflection of the image. Looks good, but could make stretching an issue.

I sub my canvas prints out to a neighbour who seems to get them done quicker and cheaper than myself.

I have quite often cropped and used a mirror image along each edge alternatively cropped and blurred the image which gives the same range of colours as in the original Both can blend in nicely

    +1 for mirror image.

Here are some I prepared earlier. Can see the mirror image on the right one.

That’s my brother. Pass on your condolences. He got married.
