Help required sourcing split batten suppliers, please?
Posted by David Hammond on November 4, 2015 at 2:28 pmJust putting a quotation together for a client, they’ve requested ‘split batten’ fixings to the rear.
I’ve found one supplier but they have a £150 minimum order. Anyone suggest another supplier?
Cheers

Hi David , what sort of panel are the split batons going on to ?
We use aluminium "Z" rail on MDF/Ply signs, Acrylic on Acrylic/dibond/Foamex -
Going on 10mm foamex, fitted in a public area so I think they want it close fitting to the wall.

How big is the panel ?
If it’s in a public area I think I would want something a bit more secure.
Does it have to be on a split baton or could you use something like keyhole fixings ? -
7@ 600×850 & 2 @ 1000×500
I suppose keyhole fixings may do the job, it’s just the customer asked specifically for split battens.

I’m curious as to how you make your own?
Do you have a router in house?

That’ll do the job! And for a fraction of the price!

David
we just run a 50mm strip of18mm MDF through table saw @ 45 degrees or there abouts, weight forces angles together and the 18mm gap gives a nice stand off fixing free lookKev
