Help required sourcing application tape supplier, please?
Posted by Richard Such on May 18, 2015 at 3:20 pmGuys, with the sad demise of Robert Horne (Paperlinx) I am unable to get my favoured paper application tape, Q Tape, does anyone get it elsewhere? I can’t find any apart from the clear that The Vinyl Corporation sell….
Any info would be appreciated
Cheers

Vink have taken over the sign trading side of Paperlinx (vts) and are trading as Europoint using all the old account data and contacts. All prices are being maintained but distribution is a little slower while they get their act together.
May be worth contacting them to see if they still have the q tape available? Personally I switched to conform paper tape a while back when I got problems with the edges on q tape causing rips when unrolling. -
Cheers Colin, I received the info from Europoint explaining they had taken over as it were…. Might well be worth giving them a call, there are only working from the Northampton branch I think aren’t they?
The Q tape does do that a bit but I can live with that as the tape is ace!!

I seem to get the edges tearing on conform as well. i have tried many papers and once I get down to the last third of the roll this starts happening what ever paper it is. Think it may be too much friction in my roll holder rollers, but its very annoying

I always thought it was me damaging the edges on the older rolls that caused this but maybe its the amount of tension on the inner parts of the roll affecting the adhesive?
We tend to use the clear pvc tape if we can these days but it can be a pain on large panels.

Q tape, I hate that stuff with a passion, i’ve started using the app tape from APS now, I find it so much better to apply and it fits lovely for an application tape that is.

Isn’t it strange how peoples preferences can be so different!! 😀

I guess that’s why there’s so many different brands.
Try APS though, that stuff is lovely to use.
