  • Help required please (heat press), which vinyl for t shirts?

    Hi all

Been asked by a few customers can I supply t shirts with logos and stag hen ones. Time has come and I’ve invested in a heat press . I’ve got the plotter software etc from my sign business question is I’ve looked at vinyl for t shirts ..now Is there a special transfer tape I need or does the vinyl come preloaded with a liner tried searching just can’t find anything I’ve seen some using graphics with a clear liner on it

    Thanks in advance

    Simon

    +1 for grafityp’s clothing vinyl

We’ve tried a few brands and found Grafityp’s the best – nice thin material, good sticky backing, easy & quick to weed.

    Hi Simon,

If the logos are just cut out in heat vinyl, then as Tim says, you don’t need tape as the liner is used for that.
You can still mix colours if you layer the vinyls, all the heat vinlys I have used so far have all had clear liners, some quite sticky and others not at all.

Should you need to print and contour cut logos, then you would need transfer tape as generally you print and then need to press the liner side onto the shirt.
There is however a clear heat vinyl where you print in mirror on the side where the glue is and press directly using the liner (this vinyle does leave the print slightly lighter though, I have tried this from Digiprint but only on white)
    Good luck and enjoy

Hi , Ive been using MDP hot flex for my clothing vinyl , mainly because I use MDP for vinyl anyway so gave it a go . Never had any problems with it and they do a good range of other clothing vinyl so worth a look

Agreed. MDP Hot Flex is excellent, as is their customer service. To be fair we haven’t tried any other clothing vinyl – we haven’t needed to!
