  • help please with new router that arrived?

Our new laser unit arrived this morning, broke down Nov’06 !!
Came in special like to install this expensive bit of kit. It was supposed to be here by 10, but it only arrived 11:30 – the courier plane could’nd land due to sand storms. (seen the re make of the movie "Flight of the Phoenix?? It was shot in the Namib, and yes, the sand storms DO get that bad!! – almost ) Everything now installed, an (sort of) works. Here is were I need some help:

    a) We’ve got a GCC Laser Pro Mercury engraver with 30W Laser

    b) Deciphering the Pidgin Cheengleesh used on the maintenance manual (downloaded from a site Rodney Gold put me onto) I "think" i got the laser reasonably aligned. Its not perfect, but can propably be tweaked a bit more. Just need a few more pints of Clever Water!!

c)The Problem: The Red beam does not correspond at all to were the laser is firing. How do I adjust the red beam to shoot to the same point as the laser? If I move the X axis rail to the front (ie away from the fixed mirror mount) the red dot completely misses the mirror mount on the x rail!! The laser hits the mark, although the point of impact is appx 3mm away from the P.O.I with the beam moved close to the fixed mirror assembly. (mirror 2 according to the manual – Mirror 1 is down at the laser source, No.3 on the X rail, No. 4 in the head.) The manual makes no mention of this, and is a bit confusing to say the least. PLEASE HELP! To get a Techie here from South Africa is going to take days, and cost thousands, to do what I can likely do if I only spotted the obvious…

    Mirror not aligned
There are screws of reglage on mirror

After it is necessary to send test of shooting to adjust

    Lucien

Unfortunately French Translators are about as readily available as Honest Politicians this neck of the woods. Despite my French looking surname, I dont speak a single word of French! The result of 350 years of happy living on the Dark Continent by my Belgian forebears!

Which mirror must be adjusted? If I adjust the mirrors 1, or 2, to move the red dot into alignment, it moves the laser out of alignment.

    that will be difficult
mirror 2 and 3 correctly to align high corner and low corner

then it is necessary to align mirror 3 on the tete laser on the 4 corners

on the tete of the laser (mirror 4 one poses a adhesif transparency)
One needs the order which makes it possible to make a laser test

one positions the tete laser high corner and one regle mirror 3 then one deplace in bottom and one makes of same

the laser shooting during 2 seconds approximately made function the laser has low power without displacement, which goes bruler (burner ?) l adhesif

I do not know the order on the laser to carry out the shooting of test but the manufacturer will have to give it to you

I have a machine trotec and the principle of alignment is the same one

    if that can help

    Problem solved.

On both my manuals (got one e-mailed from LaserPro USA) showed the red dot having a mirror next to lasers no1 mirror, not so on our machine. The manual I got from the guys in the USA then goes on explaining how you should shoot the laser at a target 3m away, and adjust the red dot to hit the same spot. Obviously I could’nt do this, since the red dot laser was moved up, and attached to the bottom of mirror 2. Once alignment of the laser is complete, you simply open up the box below mirror2, (where red dot laser is) and adjust it to hit the mark. Voila!
