  • help please need two signs for one shop?

A friend of mine has put my name forward to someone to sort out their signage for their new venture… Brilliant! 😀

Unfortunately, its not just a straight forward shop name. The shop is being used as a dog groomers with one name….. then, a pet store as another name! 😕 😕

They want one sign covering both businesses. Has anyone ever had such a request, and if so, how did you go about laying out the design?

I don’t know whether to split it in to two or incorporate both it into one sign! The customer has not got a clue as to what they want, only that the shop is going to painted yellow!

Going to have a look at the shop tonight, but just wanted some opinions from the pro’s before I get there.

    any help gratefully received. 😀

Been asked to do that before, same premises and 2 parts to the business – have attached pic.

Depends on how much space you have to work in though really.
You could either split the design in 2 halves or from corner to corner.

For example maybe do one half with red back and white text the other reversed with white solid back and red text – then frame in red so it looks as 1 but clearly defines 2 parts to the business. Just some food 4 thought.

    Tim.

Thanks for that Tim. Had a look at the place over the weekend. Quite a small barge board, measures about 14.5 foot by 1.5 ft. Existing sign from previous business looks like a bit of black perspex that has been nailed onto the base board! 😮

Think she was hoping that I would just re-use the backing!

I was thinking of using a gloss black reynobond 33 for the back, split half and half. Its West facing so should not suffer too bad for warping..Unless anyone knows better?? 😳

Never really been involved with this type of sign before, so any sugestions on fixing to the existing barge? (Dont think nails are the way to go lol). Would a straight forward screw around the edge with some covers be satisfactory for a budget sign like this? Dont think they will want to stretch to a panatrim frame, even though I will give them the option.

As for the design….. my attempt below. 😳
