Hi Guys I havne’t introduced myself yet as I really need help with this one
The vinyl cutter above i think it’s also called the 65C and 66C
wont cut the vinyl it does all of the actions it’s just that the balsed wont drop onto the vinyl
I have unpluged the solenoid from the pcb and tried a low 12v volts through it and it works fine,
an old friend died recently(Andy Asco Signs Glasgow) and his nephew gave me the machine, I remember that he machine worked ok their was just a problem with the cutter not droping on to the vinyl ,anyone one know what the problem could be or is their anyone out their that could maybe fix this for me, or have some spares or an old machione that may have the bits on it that i need Help!!!!!

    Thanks Marek..

The more I looking this signage stuff, The more I think I could be quite good at it,

If I can get this cutter working, could be another string to my already overexteneded bow :lol1:

    hi

i have two dmp 66’s and one has the same fault, i tried changing the cutting heads over and this did not fix the problem and the other head worked on the other machine so its not the head it must be something on the main board gone, i dont have the skills to find out what it is or fix it, so it remains broken. this is ok for me as i have 4 other plotters but not so good for you! if you find out what it is let me know as a could also fix mine. if i can be of any more help please ask

AH THE DMP 66 REMEMBER IT WELL every now and again the knife pressure solenoid went off centre and bound on the sides of the electro magnet it normally felt fine by hand but you could just and i mean just feel it binding. if i remember there are 4 screws ? aligning the magnet around the knife plunger carfull centering often cured the fault else sorry i dont know.

Thnaks Guys I’ll give the magnet centering a go see if that helps
Failing that I maybe on the lookout for a vinyl cutter
