  • Help needed, contour cut line is offset to the right?

    Hi

I am new here and to the whole printing thing in general. Recently purchased a CJV30-100 and today I was experimenting with printing/laminating/cutting some decals.
The cut line was offset to the right by about 0.5-1mm. The whole print/cut area was just an A4 sheet of decals so hardly a long run but there were quite a few on it at a fairly small size.

Can anyone offer some insight into this problem?

Any advice/help greatly appreciated as it it has to be something I am doing (or not) or a setting somewhere because if a machine of this calibre/cost can’t keep tracking over an A4 sheet then we have a big problem! Haha 😀

    Many thanks,

    Jon

Don’t do any of this sort of work myself so can’t offer much help directly but try doing a search on the boards as answers can often be found quicker by reading posts from people who have had similar problems.

From what I have read myself there could be a few different reasons for this starting with how the registration marks were identified by the machine. Sometimes a change of colour is all that is required.
From my own experiences just plotting cut vinyl small bits like A4 can actually be harder to align correctly than large rolls and I wouldn’t be surprised if print and cut was just the same.

    Thank you anyway Martin.

Did try having a look through several pages of threads using the search function but didn’t see anything.

I don’t think it was quite as bad perhaps on the white vinyl as it was on the fluoro green so perhaps I will try printing a white box around the reg marks. Another thing I thought is to split the A4 artwork in half and having two sets of reg marks. We shall see…
