flexi sign is a wonderful program.

about 3 clicks of a mouse and whaam baam thank you maam

i use the beizer vectorizing tool.

It may not be perfect but it does the job almost perfectly. Expecially on an image like that.

You may need a few adjustments. But it saves a hec of time.

    quote Ian Pople:

    my first attempt at tracing

Good on ya, an invaluable skill to learn. Im not keen on auto trace as I have no control on object order and slight control over quality.

How did you do it…….auto trace, or free hand, and with what program. Having had a closer look, I personally would have used fewer nodes and only placed them on transitions between curves. Also, I think about what the machine will do i.e. the order in which all of the individual objects are cut. This will help reduce the distance traveled when the cutter is raised, not too bad if you are doing something else, but is wasted time if you are twiddling your thumbs waiting for the machine to finish…….

No doubt your freind will be able to help you with any questions you have about flexisign. There are lots of other programs that have an auto trace or vectorising functions. Think a lot of people use coral.
