Help finding a vinyl match for this colour.
Posted by Simon Worrall on April 20, 2017 at 2:35 amHi
I have been asked to do one of these trucks.
I have never seen quite this colour before.
He has asked his previous signwriter, who wont tell him what make the vinyl is.
It is bluer than magenta, which was my first thought.
I know that a photograph on a screen is not ideal for matching, but I am flummoxed.
Using Photoshop on this jpeg, I make the mid range at around Pantone 238 or 239.
Anybody got any ideas of what it is?

From an old AllPrint swatch – JAC Serical Panther Rose looks pretty close.

Cheers Colin…never heard of that. I will try to get a sample.

Hi Simon slightly off subject are you based in West Sussex?
-
Andy yes I will be from end of April.
Mostly hand painting signs in an old converted forge on the A29 just south of Pulborough -
lol so you have probably seen those pink scaffold trucks about, Andy?
Cant miss em! -
No mate i work for a company in Caterham Surrey about half an hour drive from Crawley. And yes I’ve seen these trucks about….any luck with the colour yet?

The most likely I have found is Avery 900 light purple…its hard to be sure using a photo. I will either have to pay a visit or send them a swatch.

Do you know the name of the previous Sign writer? you never know i might know them…..

I’m not surprised the original signwriter won’t pass on information, especially as the client is going elsewhere. If he/she has retired, that would be a bit ordinary, but if they’re still in business I can sort of understand the reluctance to divulge any details.

Metamark?
The only problem I see if it’s a match, MM-FL50 is promotional vinyl -
Thanks for all your help.
The colour turned out to be Avery 900 Lilac.
