Hi guy, glad to be aboard.

I am a screen printer running a business in Prestbuty, Gloucestershire.
The bulk of my work is mainly garments for the trade industry.
I recently went into a partnership with a couple whose sign business never really got going, so i now have use of a versacamm and I’m just getting to grips with the whole thing.
So far only posters, stickers and some basic vinyl signs but i want to get into vehicle livery and the exhibition market.

I was astounded when i stumbled upon this site, there truly can be no better resource on the web.

Thanks for the welcome, we seem to be a dying breed.

I had a new customer today who brought in a sample and was adamant that he wanted his t shirts printed in white foil ?

It was for 500 shirts with a pocket, arm and back. The designs were complex and the weeding would have been an absolute nightmare.

It took me ages to convince him that white foil did not exist and was actually heat pressed vinyl, and that screen-printed plastisol was his best option.

The distrust in his eyes vanished when i told him the unit price.

Just as i thought he was beginning to understand he asked me if i could re-do his vehicle signage in plastisol.!!

Hi Ben, I feel your pain mate.

I had a customer ring me recently and ask if I could take the computer cut signs off his van I did about 4 years ago, and restick them on his new work van.

When I stopped laughing he’d hung up 😳
