  • Hello from The Sugar Loaf

    Had a little stroll yesterday.

Three peaks challenge walk in the Brecon Beacons, 17 miles, 5000 feet of ascent and 3 pints of Guinness afterward.

I haven’t done much hill walking of late and coming down the mountains my little ol’ knees were a bit painful 😕

Still, apart from at the summits it was t-shirt weather all day.

Thanks peeps, it was a good day.

Lynn, the proceeds from the 2010 Three Peaks Trial will be split between Longtown Mountain Rescue and the Elenydd Wilderness Trust. A donation for footpath maintenance will also be made to the National Trust, owners of Sugar Loaf and Skirrid Fawr. I’ll have another couple of pints Guinness on Wednesday after Squash.:D

Martin, I thought I saw you waving 😀

My son also competed in our group of 8 walkers then went clubbing till 4am Sunday morning 😕

    Oh to be young!!!!!

Now we know Wales is God’s country, and that Irishmen are Welshmen who could swim but I’m sure the Guinness would have tasted a lot better in your fair country. 😀

Well Jill, Wales is God’s country (as Harry, no doubt, will agree) so I’ll leave it to you to figure out.

Got to say though that the views up in the Brecon Beacons are stunning and they’re always changing
with the weather we get there.
Last year on this walk we had sun, rain and even snow all in the same day.

Having all this virtually on my doorstep is just amazing.
