    Hi
    Bout time I introduced myself…….

Been making signs on and off for about 20 years, usually part time while I pursued other interests, based in Yorkshire then in Greece where I lived mostly until 2 years ago. We relocated to the North East (15 miles ish from Durham) , took on tenancy of a pub but baled out after a year cos of current downward trend in certain types of country establishments.

Like to diversify, in signs, in other businesses and in life, have been a market trader, a chemist, an electronics engineer, a builder a lecturer in sciences etc etc etc …

So set up sign making again 3 or 4 months ago, hard at first as I knew it would be, but slowly gaining more work and also more interesting work and making more business contacts.

Amazed at how forums like these can easily get you the information that took in the past ages to locate, hope to contribute in same fashion where I can.

    Thanks

    Ian :lol1:

Aaaaw Phill, you got me on that one…. when I registered I misunderstood that bit and thought it meant ‘nationality’ not present location.

My mother was Scottish and father from the South West so always thought of myself Celtic in origin rather than Anglo (used to teach evolutionary biology not history so might be wrong on that assumption).

Used to work as electrician in the lowlands though, East Lothian, where my mother was born and raised.

Welcome aboard……..Did think about using the Saltire for the same reason, used the UJ while down south in England, but now settled in Wales.

You are right about this place being a fab resource………..it only gets better
