    Hello All

My first post so here’s a little about myself….

Since I was 18 i have been at the same print company mainly as a silkscreen printer for 28 years, I started at the "bottom of the ladder" for a couple of years as a print assistant before "graduating" to a screen printer.

The company mainly printed vinyl banners, woven poly flags, display stands and the occasional shop sign.
Everything was all printed by hand until in 2003 when they bought 2 digital machines for the the small print runs, a Mimaki TX2-1600 for Flag printing and a Mimaki JV3 160s for vinyl work, these two machines formed the basis of their "digital revolution effort" of which I was the sole operator and my life became a little easier…. Until earlier this year when the company went into liquidation because a few of their major customers started sourcing their print in China and as a result i found myself with no job and not much prospect of finding one.

When I eventually received my redundancy money I decided to go it alone and I purchased the JV3 and its rip plus some other extras including some stock from the liquidators at an extremely good price.

So here I am about to face self-employment for the first time.

    PS..
I will be putting my profile photo up when i work out how to but if someone can point me in the right direction that would be great 🙂

This is not an necessity, but it is fact, posts accompanied by a full proper user-name and photograph get much more help/advice/replies than those without.
