Hello from Gwent
hi all,
I’m Steve from s.wales
I left school and became a carpenter (the old get a trade stuff), quickly changed direction and became an artist (which was what I wanted).
Spent over 13 years as an artist in the computer games industry building 3D models,drawing textures of all sorts in Maya and 3DS etc and design – Art and design is my thingy really.
Moved out of games and started back up as a carpenter (family reasons) but can’t shake off the artist in me (not that I want too ;0)
My time is split between art and design and carpentry and it was a pleasant surprise when the when I started using both trades on jobs.
Sign work is not that far from doing artwork for games (and web), I use mostly the same tools and instead of outputting the work to a game engine it now goes to a Roland camm1 :0)
