Hello from freezing Cheshire!
Hi all
Came across this forum and site a few weeks ago while researching the set-up for my new business. Can I just say what a very professional and educational site this is.
My main business to date has be as a pro photographer and there is nothing like this available in that sector, believe me. Hats off to the admin team and founders!I’ll be posting my first post soon so please be gentle if I make a fool of myself even though I don’t intend to and thanks in anticipation for all your help.
Equally if I can assist you please ask – I can only try!

Nice to feel welcome.
I am near Sandbach, Gavin – not sure if that’s near you but clearly you are more in line with the Gulf Stream than I am. Must admit that at present it is unlikely to be as cold (or as cool :D) as Alberta. I’d have thought that cracked vinyl would be a big issue there!I’m sure that when many of you started out, forums such as this did not exist. That’s how it was when I was starting out in photography too. A very lonely beginning – but you learn quickly if you are to survive. Now it just feels plain awkward as a newbie joining a forum with such a mine of knowledge and expertise. Clearly for a good while I will be asking for help unable to offer too much in return except enthusiasm and encouragement on the subject of signs.
On the other hand ask away about branding, imagery, photography and all the boring business issues you can think of from corporate structure to cash flow and I’ll do my best to help. That way I’ll feel more like I am balancing the support line as it were.

Hi Gerry, welcome to the forum from North of the border where I am pretty sure it’s colder than where you are.
Good thing about the forum is that you will probably learn quicker than you did with your other business and probably won’t make as many mistakes. Won’t be long before you are answering sign related questions I am sure.

Welcome to the boards. Twenty plus years in the photo business myself before signs, so bit of a Rookie also. This is the best place to be to learn and find new friends. And yes, although you may not think it now, you will be able to offer help and advice in the future, as there is always something new for everyone to learn.Peter
