Nah, don’t do rugby. Too much hard work, sweat and effort.

Bathing with fourteen other hairy @rsed men doesn’t hold much attraction. 😀

Grew up in Corby (aka Little Scotland) though, so am aware of the nutritional value of the deep fried Mars bar. So well acquainted in fact that I have an appointment at the doctor’s this Tuesday. *rofl*

I think you’re going to fit in here. 😀

They have deep fried Oreos at county fairs here, John.
    I haven’t tried one.
I would try a Mars bar deep-fried tho!
And I think Scotland has by far the best fried fish in the world.
Now if you go to the southern states you can get "prairie oysters" deep fried.

Yeah, I know Jill. That’s why I’m very careful what I order down there. *rofl*
Sipping a mint julep on the banks of the Suwannee River is as adventurous as I’ve ever got.

I’ve never had an ordinary Oreo, much less a deep fried one. A joy yet to come?

I’ve got to agree with you on the Scottish fish though.

I would travel to Scotland just for one piece of fish if I had the $$.
Here is a link to the Oreo, America’s favorite cookie:

    Welcome to the site Gibby.

Jill, I have just seen an advert for Oreos on UK telly. They look like poo.

As for international cuisine, I had a chilli dog at Indianapolis ice rink once.

Thanks for the link Jill. I wasn’t aware of all the details, but I did know that the Oreo was a cookie, and understood it to be almost a national icon, and the foundation of the National Biscuit Company empire. I’ve read "Barbarians at the Gate" by Bryan Burrough and John Helyar, which is the story of the private capital takeover of RJR Nabisco by Kohlberg, Kravis Roberts.

An absolutely fascinating tale of greed and intrigue, and all the better for being a true story. In fact it’s so good, I’ve read it twice.

It’s all a long way from Elgin though. Sorry Gibby.
