Hello to all. My first post, hopefully not my last!

My business is wide and varied, young but with loads of experience! Intrigued, nosey? Read on!

Basically I’m a career long salesman/manager in advertising who some 10 years ago found himself out of work and had a go at selling signs, primarily banners to the leisure industry. Looking back I now realise that 1×200 Banner order taken on a phone in a yet to be plastered bathroom (we were extending and it was my only office) was a bit of a result! Picked up some big stuff and a few local pieces, done all the entrance banners for the local ‘stately home’ park many of which are still used for the Virgin V concerts, etc., (all telesales!) and then like an idiot went back to work for someone else while technology developed and everyone else caught up!!!!

It was a good learning experience and from that day I have maintained an interest in the sign industry (oh nearly forgot, I also had a year selling Linelight UV signs and those write on illuminated Blackboards).

3 years ago I set up a website to unite my sales ability with a passion for boxing and developed a part time business selling ‘Slogan T’s’ as can be seen at http://www.warriorboxing.com The site has now developed and incorporates loads of other stuff and the spin off is that I bought the equipment to allow me to produce most stuff in house, T’s, Mugs, Caps etc., which in turn can be used to make Signs and banners!!!

So where am I now and why uksigngroup.com?

First off big thanks to Steve at Signagraphic who I have only ever spoken to once and who reccomended this site for advice and help.

I’m chucking my hat in the ring because it’s nice to see a forum with genuine answers with the only aim to help each other and I hope that I can make use of it and pass on any advice I can about the garment printing industry to those who may be considering it as an add on business.

I am also developing the vinyl graphics side of my business and making inroads into the local councils, building companies on the simple stuff witha view to farming out anything too big to handle so hope to be in a position to pass some business on in the future.

Now let’s see if we can work out these emoticons………

    (:)

Is it me or did this thread start last October?

If so…It’s worse than the “Who shot JR” cliffhanger.

    I need to swap channels.

Come on then…Give us the Dirt on Gray…Is he really Malcom Douglas in disguise?
