• Heatpress materials

Guy has asked me if i will do him some T shirts and Polo shirts after i did his shop front, this is something i have never done before or even thought about doing, iv had a quick read through the forums about pressing gfx to shirts etc but my question is, can i use a normal inkjet office A4 printer to print onto the material that i press on the shirts or is it a special printer? i can get hold of a heat press cheap enough but if i need to go out buying more equipment on something i dont really intend doing much of il pass on the job. 🙄
    Thx Alan

I know another sign shop that produce this type of tee-shirt printing and all they have is the heat press.

I assume they cut-out with a plotter or print the image by ink-jet, as they have no other special equipment.

    Hi Alan,
Xpres have brought out a new product that you can print on with an inkjet printer. Its like photo paper, you print a mirrored image onto the paper, cut round the logo to remove the excess, then press direct onto the shirts. Light coloured shirts only. I’ve yet to try this product but if you go onto there website you can ask for a free sample A4 sheet.

    Cheers John

I tried that injet paper from Graphytip and you get great results on white shirts until you wash them then the paper cracks up and it is useless. I stopped using it after a charity run as it did not give me the professional image I was after, I have heard customers getting T’s from other places and the same thing has happened.
