My understanding is it hasn’t got up to temperature. Pressing the enter button overrides the message and the print continues on regardless of if it is at the right temp. Either the heater is faulty (and it really isn’t getting up to temp.) Or the sensor is faulty. You should be able to monitor the temp. Of the heaters from the control panel which will show heater setting and heater actual I think.

Thanks Phil, it’s odd because it had printed approx 20 metres already so should of been ok temp wise, maybe a call to Roland Monday.

Perhaps the heater failed during the print? What happens when you start a fresh print. Does it get up to temp or timeout still? You should be able to monitor the heater settings from the control panel

But is it reaching the set temp.? I still think the heater may have failed. Print quality may not be affected anyway, monitoring the heater settings and actual temp should give you the answer

    Shawn
how cold is it in your workshop overnight, could just be that the heater isn’t reaching temp because ambient temperature is low

Does sound like a printer issue then as you say monitor it see how it goes because if its only happening mid way on long runs heater & sensor is obviously working.

Yes mate it finished first set of prints and then the next that was lined up was waiting to start and that’s when it came up.

That’s weird Shawn, we also have an ej640 and have been having a similar issue. On occasions when I print I get that message. I noticed however that the print heater is so warm you can’t keep your hand on it for any more than a few seconds! Versaworks is set so printer uses default media temperature setting, approx 40/45 degrees. Our workshop is really cold at the moment though, moving now next month and getting proper heating installed. Would appreciate if you find out any more about this.

From what David is saying i would edge my bets to this being a communication issue between Versa Works & printer, either software based or possibly Firmware glitch. David do you find this happens mid way through printing process or at the beginning of print, this would help to work out if its an ambient temperature problem or same issue Shawn is having.

Seems to happen at the start of the print job. Been wrapping a fiat 500 barbie pink this week so haven’t be paying as much attention to the issue as I should, just pressing "enter" on the machine to bypass the problem. Will get a better look this week.

Did you ever get to the bottom of this Shawn? If you have it would be nice to hear the outcome as it might benefit others coming across a similar fault
