Sharon,
I started out using Magicut from TMT which has a good print like finish but when you come to weeding small designs things like the dots on top of the i’s are nigh on impossible to ‘hold’. I have tried a number of the films such as Easy cut, Easy flex, Extra Flex etc., etc., and again they are ok but can appear plasticy so that’s why I stick with Flock. I think the end result is far better/classier and if you get a customer who wants the same but in a bigger quantity you can have the transfers made without too much difference in appearance.
As for the plotter getting bunged up with fibres, no, I’ve not had a problem. I’ve had no hair loss at all!!
One thing I would say to anyone thinking of using Flock is to try several colours from different manufacturers. White is easy to cut, easy to weed whereas other colours such as Grey can be really tough to do. Another benefit of flock is if you hastily weed it and lose a dot or letter you can retrieve it and it will stick onto the backing sheet in most cases.
