He would have hated it……
Posted by Ben Childs on January 10, 2012 at 10:07 amMy Dad would have turned 60 yesterday had he still been here. And I’m sure he would have hated being reminded of it 🙂
So in lieu of being able to wind him up mercilessly I would like to raise a glass to his memory. Seemed too big an occasion not to mark it somehow.
Miss you Dad

I would love to join you in raising a glass to your Dad Ben. Still very much missed by a lot of the forum members, myself included.

Here here, I’ll raise a glass too and also miss him still, been a few instances I could have called to chat and just reminded me what a good man he was.
Happy Birthday John :drink4:

I think of him all the time.
I’m glad you reminded us of his birthday.
Here’s to you, John, wherever you are.

I’d like to echo all the sentiments already expressed.
I always made a point of reading his well thought out concise posts and replies; they rarely needed any explanation, I felt he had a somewhat calming influence on the site, especially when it got a bit contentious, I particularly miss those qualities. -
Definitely, always think of John everytime I log onto UKSB, especially with my Mac.

quote Steve Morgan:they rarely needed any explanation, I felt he had a somewhat calming influence on the site, especially when it got a bit contentious, I particularly miss those qualities.
totally agree Steve, having had the pleasure of being his house guest for a couple of days, I can say that his influence wasn’t something he considered much himself, but I think he enjoyed the banter as much as anything. A true gent and friend. I still miss his input, and often wonder what he would say when I see some posts on here some times. I think of him often.
