I’d like to echo all the sentiments already expressed.
I always made a point of reading his well thought out concise posts and replies; they rarely needed any explanation, I felt he had a somewhat calming influence on the site, especially when it got a bit contentious, I particularly miss those qualities.

totally agree Steve, having had the pleasure of being his house guest for a couple of days, I can say that his influence wasn’t something he considered much himself, but I think he enjoyed the banter as much as anything. A true gent and friend. I still miss his input, and often wonder what he would say when I see some posts on here some times. I think of him often.
