Need to vent so bear with me…

Busy beyond belief after having to go back to the UK to organise my Nan’s funeral. Lot’s of cost and stress having to deal with family, organise stuff for Nan to be sent off and have to deal with Nan’s partner who is suffering from maybe a bit of dementia.

Had to leave Aus during our busiest time ever.

Come home, no time to grieve…Back into work…Quote quote quote…Make make make…Print Print (you get the picture).

Guys on site yesterday installing a sign on a light box with a large scissor lift…Busted water main where machine had been lifted on top of totally buried services.

Light box needed refurb…(so we organised sparkie to replace ballast, globes and starters). Four hours wasted on site in lift because sparkie didn’t have an EWP ticket then he says "Sorry mate…Gotta rewire this. I’ll be back Monday". Scissor lift on site at over $200 per day. No light box working.

Now I’m back in the office…Printing…Quoting…Stressing…

    Is it worth it all?

Please someone tell me it’s worth it!

Ahh I feel better now 😉

Look at your wife/kids, the roof above your head, an old D-Day film, glass of Whiskey…and YES, it’s worth it.

Were only here once, good or bad, make the most of the positive. Your printers are printing and your quoting. This time last year some here would have prayed for that.

Take time out (albiet a day!) remember your Nan, they are very special people, deep breath and smile!

John Childs taught me alot, most inportant being, live life to the full.

    Matt xx

Matty, I was in that situation just last year and I’d forgotten how bad it was.

Perspective is a nice thing to have…Cheers fellas 😀

Hey Lee, sorry to hear about your Nan mate.

Been the same here, way too busy to think straight… not spending enough time recharging the batteries. If I’m not working I’m sleeping it seems.

The day they called the election, my phones stopped ringing. I didn’t know, but as soon as an election is called, government spending is put on hold by law. I have a few jobs in the pipeline for pseudo government departments (Health Dept etc) and its all come to a screaming halt. I’ve already purchased and paid for the fabrications and stock, just been waiting on a fitting date to be approved. I’m well out of pocket at this point in time.

But I’ve taken to opportunity to spend the quiet time with the wife and kids. Reflect on how fortunate I am when others around me are going belly up left right and centre.

My sister got retrenched on Friday after 12 years with the same company. Made me realise how fortunate I am to not be relying on a boss.

Good advice from Matt as well. Take time out before you burn out buddy. Life is too short and the family grow up very fast.

Lee, sorry to hear about your Nan, as Matty has said they are very special people.

Make sure you take a bit of time for family even if you are busy BEFORE it’s to late, won’t go into details but if you don’t you could end up being to ill to work at all and lose your home and family.

It’s easy done Lee and you don’t see it coming till it’s to late.
