  • have a problem with grafityp and my versacamm?

Hi, we just ordered a roll of CP160 non adhesive paper from Grafityp, and got them to split a 1520 roll down the middle to fit our versacamm.

    The plan was to :

    1) print posters as close as we could to the edge ( minus the white space where the pinchrollers are )

    2) use the versacamm sheet cutter to cut the top and bottom

    3) Have a nice square poster to give to our customers!

    HOWEVER:

    1) Where the roll has been split is very grubby and tatty ( and its quite grubby and tatty on the edge that hasnt been cut )

    SO QUESTIONS:

    1) We are obviously going to have to cut those edges ( left and right edges ) aswell as top to bottom edges. How do other people tackle the problem of getting a nice square shape from a paper that has no backing ( i would try to cut the square out of the paper, but with no backing im frightened of damaging the blade )

    2) When you press sheet cut on the versacamm it shifts forward before cutting. Can this be set to Zero?

    Hope this makes sense

    thanks for your time

    Danny

    Danny,

Can’t believe you have received the paper in that condition, if you want I will arrange for a replacement to be sent out today for tomorrow.

    Regards

You use a wide format rotary trimmer to do so , its an essential for a digital print shop – dunno whats available in your area but im sure one of your graphic suppliers will have one.
Ours was not expensive , does up to 1.6m and uses a rotary blade.
