Well I have been away for just over a week, no, not on holiday like some of you lucky people but recovering in hospital.
Well what put me in hospital………………………………………..a friggin CAT! 👿

Last Monday, neighbours cat creeps into house and decides to take on my poor little moggy at 2am. Said cat and hands contact each other and then part very violently. Loss of blood follows (mine) half hour to stop blood dripping. Calm is restored in household. (did anyone see that shilouette of a cat flying over the moon, and he was not riding a bike either). Woke up in morning with my right hand all swollen so decide to go to A&E for tetanus jab.
Doctor takes one look at my hand and an operation is booked for following morning. Left hand was sliced open in two places and big slice in right hand (by surgeon not cat) there was a massive infection in right hand and as claws went deep into my knuckle joint it had to be deep cleaned to prevent joints going stiff in years to come. Two ops on left hand and four on right hand. All under full strength knockout drops each time (thank God.)
One week and half a day later I’m back home. Got a bit of mending still to do before I can get back on my bike, but hopefully not too long. Right hand fingers are very stiff but going for physio and check up on thursday.

So to conclude….when you have a strange cat in your house, use your size elevens not your hands. (<(

Well it could have been worse.

An old girlfriend of mine had a relative that actually died when saving a cat. It was somewhere in Falkirk, he stood on a railing slipped and the spike pierced his foot and he ended up dead!

There is actually a plaque on the spot with a poem about the guy. He has gone down in local history as a bit of a hero. hero? Nutter! you had the right Idea Mike, hope you ok now sounds nasty, that’s why I hate cats selfish and just cause trouble and expense best place for em is in a curry!

OMG all that from being scratched by a cat? 😮 I’ve always been a dog person as opposed to a cat person, I’ve never trusted them, they’re too sleekit! Now that has just confirmed my feelings toward cats …….. I’m never going to have one! lol.

    Get well soon Mike x

Sorry guys forgot to say thanks for the good wishes.
Marcy it was a Ferrell cat, not your domesticated lovable type. I had confused it with a very similar looking cat of my neighbour but a few things have pointed to it not being a domestic moggy.
Left hand is functioning at last and is healing well still a bit weak to hold things but my right hand is not so good, check-up yesterday showed healing still a bit angry and quack has upped the antibiotics again. Right hand still useless for just about anything. 🙄 just like me! :lol1:

    Update.
    Don’t look if you a bit squeamish…..

All stitches are now out. Left hand doing good. Right hand still got a long way to go. Physio is a nice woman who likes to inflict pain (and I don’t have to pay for it! 😮 ) 😉
